Plants, trees and lawns

Set in a large communal garden, The Bow Quarter benefited from an extensive re-landscaping and replanting scheme in 2003, paid for by BQRM. The brief was to achieve a more interesting, modern and consistent look whilst of course honouring the historic buildings and plantings.

Pass the time of day in one of the shady new seating areas and arbours - eighty new deciduous trees have been planted.

Watch through the seasons as the new plants and trees grow, concealing some of the more utilitarian areas and adding to the green feel. The scheme of refreshing the plants will continue on a rolling basis.

Chill out and sunbathe on the leisure centre roof, surrounded by bamboos and other structural plants. It's a good place to meet other residents.

In the evening light, enjoy a snack at the newly provided tables and chairs - and if you linger the discreet lighting will go on after dusk. As ever, as evening draws on please keep the noise down and vacate the area as the hours become small again..

Enjoy a picnic in the grounds - but please don't use portable barbecues as they burn the grass. And so that everyone can enjoy the grounds at their best, please do pick up your litter (especially your cigarette ends) and make sure you clean up after your pet.

And a final mention - ball games are not allowed anywhere on the estate.
