Living in Bow

Urban, central, diverse - these are all words that apply to Bow. In an area currently experiencing enormous investment for inner city regeneration, from the ever expanding Canary Wharf to the plans for the London's 2012 Olympics with Stratford at its core, it's an exciting place to live. And you may well find some surprises as well.

Bow may have an urban feel but if you fancy a walk or a jog, then the vast Victoria Park is easily reached, whether you drive there or wander along the canal.

In recent years more and more restaurants have opened in the area - try the Morgan Arms on the corner of Morgan Street and Coburn Road (voted Best Pub 2005 by the Evening Standard) or the range of restaurants including Jongleurs at Bow Wharf (on Grove Road). For a curry, Brick Lane is unbeatable and there's a choice of restaurants at Canary Wharf.

For cooking at home, as well as the on-site shop there is a branche of Tesco within easy reach whilst Asda and Sainsbury's are a short drive away. There is also a branch of Waitrose in nearby Canary Wharf, which offers high quality shopping in general. Tesco, Sainsbury and Ocado all offer internet shopping delivery to Bow Quarter.

The Roman Road market, which sells everything from jellied eels to underwear, is within easy walking distance and is quite an experience. It's open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with Saturday of course being the busiest day. The famous Sunday morning Columbia Road flower and plant market is also not far away.

And for your cultural hit, there are multi-screen cinema complexes at West India Quary and Stratford as well as the newly renovated Theatre Royal in Stratford.
